The journalists and employees working in Bangladesh Post have recently expressed no-confidence in Sharif Shahab Uddin, who had been serving as editor-in-chief. He was also declared ‘unwanted’ in the daily.
The unanimous decision was taken at a meeting of Bangladesh Post Sangbadik Karmachari Oikya Parishad, the united platform of the journalists and employees of the daily.
The meeting observed that Sharif Shahab Uddin is involved in massive corruption, irregularities, misconduct, nepotism, and many unprofessional behaviour which were largely responsible for negative growth of the newspaper, published by one of the leading corporate groups of the country.
The meeting took place recently at the newsroom of Bangladesh Post in Tejgaon Industrial Area in Dhaka city. The journalists and employees of the Bangladesh Post at the meeting declared Sharif Shahab Uddin ‘unwanted’ after he secretly left the country, betraying his fellow newsmen.
The leaders of the platform at the meeting requested the publisher of the daily to take steps in this regard immediately in the greater interest of the newspaper.
