Sharankhola Upazila Parishad Chairman passes away

Sharankhola Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Kamal Uddin Akon is no more (Inna Lillah wa Inna Ilahi Razune).

He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Khulna on Thursday (December 5). At the time of his death, he left behind numerous relatives and well-wishers including his wife, three sons and a daughter.

Kamal Uddin was the chairman of the Sharankhola Upazila Parishad three times and the president of the Upazila Awami League three times. His father Nasiruddin Akon was also the president of the Upazila Awami League and chairman of the Upazila Parishad for a long time. His family has made a huge contribution to the politics of the Awami League. He is the elder brother of the central committee organizer of Bangladesh Chhatra League, almost Moniruzzaman Badal.

Upazila Awami League general secretary Ajmal Hossain Mukta said that Kamal Uddin was taken to a private hospital in Khulna when he fell ill while staying in the bus building of the Upazila Parishad. Earlier, he was suffering from heart problems. He recently returned to India after an open-heart surgery in India.
