Sharankhola BNP holds biannual conference

Despite challenging weather conditions, the biannual conference of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Sharankhola was held in a festive and orderly manner on Sunday. Through secret balloting, Md Anwar Hossain Panchayet was elected President, and Md Bellal Hossain Milon was elected General Secretary.

Md Mahiuddin Badol and Professor Shamim Ahmed Badol were elected as Organising Secretaries. The event took place at the grounds of Rayenda Government Pilot High School and was inaugurated by Khadem Niamul Nasir Alap, Joint Convener of Bagerhat District BNP.

The conference was presided over by Upazila BNP Convener and freedom fighter Nazrul Islam Lal, with Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim as Chief Guest and former District BNP President MA Salam as the keynote speaker.

A total of 284 councillors were eligible to vote, with 281 casting ballots. Anwar received 150 votes, while Milon secured 109. The conference saw participation from several central and district-level BNP leaders and party activists.
