Shakti Foundation to plant 15,000 trees

Shakti Foundation, a private voluntary organization, has taken the initiative to plant 15,000 trees across the country, inclu­ding palm trees. Shakti Foundation has taken this initiative on the occasion of 31 years of foundation.

This program was inaugurated by planting 55 trees at the Magura District Commissioner's office on Monday morning. Magura District Commissioner Muhammad Abu Naser Beg  inaugurated the event. Asma Begum, Head of Shakti Foundation Human Resource Department, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdul Quader, Press Club General Secretary Shamim Khan, Shakti Foundation Human Resource Department Officer Shamima Khatun Happy, Regional Head Humayun Kabir, Area Supervisor Zahurul Islam, District Manager SM Julhas were present on the occasion.

In the event organized on this occasion, it was informed that under the program of tree planting, there are various types of medicinal fruits and forest trees including mango, jam, black chura, radha chura, mehguni, bakul, kanchan, kathbadam, along with lightning resistant palm trees.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Beg said in the event that there should be at least 25 percent green forests in the world to protect the natural balance. Each of us should plant at least one tree. Humans and plants have a close relationship in terms of human respiration and absorption processes. Everyone has surely understood the importance of oxygen during the corona epidemic.
