Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has no chance of playing in the next Indian Premier League (IPL), due to the ICC’s ban on him for concealing gambling proposals. So without the Bangladeshi star all-rounder, his franchise team, Sunrisers Hyderabad, has started planning. He was released by Hyderabad yesterday before the auction to be held on December 5.

Shakib’s first team was Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He then wrote his name in Hyderabad. But being banned by the ICC, he will not be seen in the upcoming World Twenty20. Shakib’s suspension will expire on October 20 next year.

The IPL season will end long before that. As a result, the franchise wants to lean on a new foreign star without him in the squad.

Hyderabad has dropped a total of five cricketers, including Shakib. Among them are New Zealand star opener Martin Guptill and India's Yusuf Pathan. Hyderabad decided to axe them due to their bad form.

The other foreign players to be retained are Ken Williamson (New Zealand), David Warner (Australia), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan) and Johnny Bairstow (England).
