Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh's all-rounder, has expressed his desire to play in another World Cup following the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup set to commence on June 2nd in the United States and the West Indies.

Since the inception of the T20 World Cup in 2007, Shakib has been a constant presence, a feat he shares only with India's captain Rohit Sharma.

In the BCB's video series 'The Green Red Story', Shakib, with a smile, shared his wish to participate in one more World Cup, "I have had the privilege of playing in every T20 World Cup since the first.

It's a matter of pride and joy for me. Representing my country at the same time is a great feeling. Rohit and I are possibly the only two players who have played in all the T20 World Cups.

I hope to play in one more. Before that, I hope to perform well in this World Cup and help Bangladesh achieve better results than in any previous T20 World Cup."

In the video, Shakib answered several written questions, including one about the United States being his "second home" and whether the team would benefit from the home advantage. Shakib, who resides in the US with his family, chuckled, "My second home is fine, but it's difficult to say if we'll have the home advantage. However, I believe we will. We have always done well in the West Indies and the United States, especially when we played in Florida. The pitches there are quite similar to ours. So, I'm hopeful that we will have an advantage in both places."

Shakib's career has paralleled the rise of international T20 cricket, which is now the most popular format. When asked about this evolution, Shakib said, "To me, it seems like an extended version of one-day cricket. It's very thrilling.

The audience loves it. I just hope that there's a fair competition between bat and ball, and it doesn't become a one-sided tournament. Usually, that's never the case in World Cups, and I believe it will be the same this time."

Shakib added, "There are many Bangladeshi fans waiting there. I hope they will fully support us. Their support will be beneficial, and we will be able to achieve good results."

Regarding his personal goals for the World Cup, the former captain stated, "I don't want to see anything next to my name.

I just want to contribute to Bangladesh. I hope to do something good for Bangladesh in this World Cup."
