Police recovered the hanging body of the daughter of Shahriar Kabir, president of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, from her residence at Banani in the capital.
The hanging body of 41-year-old Arpita Kabir Mumu was recovered on Thursday night, said Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)’s Gulshan Division Md Shahidullah.
The body was handed over to family members at night, said the officer.
The police did not mention any other detail behind the death.
Shahriar Kabir’s family has not given any statement on the issue as well.
However, officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said that Arpita Kabir Mumu might have committed suicide. But reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately.
