Shahin receives "Mother Teresa Golden Award 2023"

Journalist Shahin Howlader was awarded the ‘Mother Teresa Golden Award 2023’ for his contributions in economic journalism.

On behalf of Shahin Howlader, his elder brother Sakhawat Hossain received the award and certificate from the chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim at a function held in the capital on September 7.

Vice-Chancellor of Global University Prof Dr Anisuzzaman, among others, was present on the occasion.

Shahin Hawladar has previously received the 'Global Youth Leadership Award 2023' from the Global Youth Parliament, one of the largest youth organizations in the world.

Earlier, various social and cultural organizations also honoured Shahin Howlader for his outstanding contribution in journalism.

Shahin Howladar hails from Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola district.

He started his career in journalism with a local newspaper in 2007. Later, he started as an economic reporter at The Daily Shomoyer Alo.

Shahin Howlader’s investigative reports in irregularities and corruption in the country’s financial sector were widely appreciated.

He joined The Business Post in 2021 where his reports on economic sector including the Ministry of Finance and Bangladesh Bank made him widely known.

He travelled to various countries including USA, the UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, India and other countries.
