Popular actress Shabnam Faria sought police security as she had been getting threats through social media platform Facebook from a person.
Feeling insecure, the actress on Tuesday filed a general diary (GD) with Paltan Police Station against a man named Mehidi Hasan Farhad. The GD number is 188.
“Seven days ago, I saw nasty comments on Facebook. Four days later, a Facebook ID named Mehedi Hassan Farhad [Friends for Life] posted a picture of the ‘Men’s Fair and Lovely Channel i Hero - Ke Hobe Mashud Rana’ and even posted my phone number on Facebook. As a result, my phone is constantly getting calls from unknown different numbers,” Faria complained in the GD.
“However, false propaganda is being spread against me from other Facebook IDs. These incidents are damaging my honor. At present, I am suffering from insecurity,” she added.
Recently, Faria performed as a judge in a competition named ‘K Hobay Masud Rana’. The activities of the judges of the programme are widely criticised on Facebook. Some people have been threatening Faria for the last couple of days centering the issue.
Moreover, a Facebook ID named Mehidi Hasan Farhad (Friends for Life) posted some photos and video footages of the programme along with Faria’s personal mobile number. Since then, Faria had to deal with hundreds of calls from various unknown numbers.
Talking about the issue, Faria said, “I have already informed the matter to Cyber Crime Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and will go to court on Sunday next”.
