At least seven people were killed and several others injured in a road accident in Jhenaidah on Wednesday.
The accident took place in the evening as a truck and a human hauler (locally known as Alam sadhu) collided at Shailkupa upazila in the district. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Shailkupa police circle Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ariful Islam confirmed the matter.
Jhenaidah Fire Service and Civil Defense deputy assistant director Shamimul Islam said that all the deceased were passengers of the human-hauler. The death toll likely to increase, he said.
