Seminar on Int’l Day for Older Persons held at JNU

A seminar has been held at Jagannath University (JnU) on the occasion of International Day for Older Persons. The seminar was organised by the social work department of the university on Sunday in the virtual classroom of the CSE department.

The acting Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer of the University, Professor Dr. Kamaluddin Ahmad, was present as the chief guest of the seminar.

He said that respect for elders can be developed through proper teaching in the family. We need to have a moral obligation towards our elders. The present government was the first to introduce an old age allowance in our country, as a result of which their standard of living became more bearable.

The programme was chaired by the chairman of the social work department, Prof. Dr. Rajina Sultana, while the Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology, Pirojpur, Kazi Saifuddin, was present as a special guest.

In the first session of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hasan and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Md. Abul Hossain gave a welcoming speech.

In the second session of the programme, folk songs were performed. Teachers and students from various departments of the university were present at the event.
