A seminar on higher education in Russia was held at International Islamic University Chittagong campus on Saturday.
Professor Anwarul Azim Arif, Vice Chancellor of the University, was the chief guest at the seminar organized in collaboration with the ‘Russian On the Go’. Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Kazi Din Muhammad presided over the event. The key speakers were ‘Russian On the Go General Director Miss Anna Bukharskaya and Director Mohiuddin Risalat’.
Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Acting Director of International Affairs and Student Welfare Division conducted the seminar. Registrar AFM Aktaruzzaman Kaiser, Proctor Mohammad Iftekhar Uddin, English Department Chairman Sarwar Alam were present as special guests.
In the seminar, the speakers highlighted the way of life and culture of Russia as well as the opportunity to study in Russia's prestigious universities with scholarships and at low cost. In particular, students of IIUC were highlighted various opportunities including credit transfer for female students, Ph.D. for teachers, off-campus Ph.D.
Professor Anwarul Azim Arif said, Russia is a tested friend of Bangladesh. Bangladesh's relationship with Russia is very old. We want to open new horizons of higher education for our student teachers by signing MoUs with famous Russian universities. Today's seminar will play an important role on higher education.
Prof. Dr. Kazi Deen Muhammad said, IIUC provides an opportunity for students to serve the country with higher degrees in the best universities of different countries of the world. Meritorious students are sent abroad with scholarships making IIUC an exceptional private university.
Later, the delegation of Russians on the Go interacted with the IIUC Vice Chancellor at his office.
