A seminar entitled “Fostering Economic Growth through Industrial and Supply Chain Cooperation between China and Bangladesh” was held on Friday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka.
The seminar was held on the sideline of the 2nd Edition of the Belt and Road Initiative in Bangladesh Exhibition 2025 (BRI 2025) at ICCB.
The program featured keynote addresses from prominent leaders of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB), including Han Kun (President of CEAB & Branch of Energy &Power), Ge Zhenyu (President of CEAB Textile &Garments Branch), Lin Hai (President of CEAB ICT Branch), and Xu Yunxiang (Representative of CEAB Port & Marine Branch).
Special guest speakers encompassed Dr. Md. Shamsul Hoque, Professor of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET); Faisal Samad, Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA); Mohammad Sanaul Huq, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources; and Md. Abu Sayed, Additional Secretary &Director General, Department of ICT, Government of Bangladesh.
The Chief Guest, Song Yang, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh, delivered the concluding remarks, underscoring the burgeoning potential for profound industrial collaboration and enhanced bilateral economic relations.
By leveraging China’s manufacturing and technological prowess alongside Bangladesh’s aspirations for industrial advancement, the seminar sought to cultivate consensus, explore avenues for collaboration, and transform dialogues into concrete outcomes, thereby effectively invigorating high-quality economic and trade relations between China and Bangladesh under the auspices of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The seminar culminated in an engaging open discussion, crest distribution, and a formal closing session.
