A sedition case was filed on Wednesday against four people over Qatar-based international news channel Al Jazeera's investigative report titled "All the Prime Minister's Men."

The accused were controversial journalists David Bergman, self-exiled journalist Tasneem Khalil, Al Jazeera Television Director General Dr Mostefa Souag and Hungary-based entrepreneur Zulkarnain Saer Khan.

Moshiur Malek, founder and president of Bangabandhu Foundation, filed the case with the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ashek Imam.

Malek, who is also a lawyer himself, said in the case that the report was fictitious and flawed and had tarnished the image of Bangladesh government and the state home and abroad, which amounts to sedition.

He pleaded to the court to issue arrest warrants against the accused through Interpol in this regard.

The court recorded the statement of the complainant but did not pass any order.

The Al Jazeera broadcasted a fabricated report on February 1 this year, leveling various fictitious allegations against Bangladesh Army chief General Aziz Ahmed and his brothers.

On Tuesday, General Aziz told reporters that the allegations were false, concocted and part of a conspiracy by vested groups.

Earlier, Bangladesh government also rejected the report.
