State Minister for water resources Zahid Faruque said a secretary level meeting this month between Bangladesh and India is expected to reach to a solution on Teesta. “Secretary level meeting between Bangladesh and India will be held later this month to take decision on Teesta,” the state minister told journalists while visiting Teesta barrage in Nilphamari on Saturday, reports BSS.
The state minister said all rivers and canals across the country would be excavated again according to the Delta Plan 2100. Earlier, the state minister exchanged views with the officials of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) at board’s rest house at Dalia point. Additional Secretary of the Water Resources ministry Mahmudul Islam, Director General of BWDB Mahfujur Rahman, Chief Engineer of BWDB’s Rangpur zone Joyti Prasad Ghosh, Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari hafizur Rahman and senior officials were present.
