Security measures taken for Eid-ul-Azha in Khulna

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has taken stringent security measures for peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Azha. The measures were taken at a view-exchange meeting at the KMP headquarters on Monday with KMP Commissioner Lutful Kabir in the chair, reports BSS.

Senior Police officers, including the additional KMP Commissioner Sarder Rakibul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioners, Chiefs of crime division, traffic division and detective division, leaders of different department, business bodies, truck, bus owners association, representatives of KCC, Civil Surgeon and media personnel, attended the meeting.

The meeting decided not to allow setting up of makeshift cattle market except the approved one by the Khulna City Corporation (KCC). The police will ensure security to all the buyers and sellers at the Zoragate cattle market and will not allow anyone to disturb traffic movement due to the market.

To make the security effective, the police will set up a control room and two watch towers at the makeshift Zoragate cattle market in the city. Special attentions would be given to securing areas including banks, financial organisations and in and around the cattle market. The KMP commissioner directed his officials to identify and take actions against muggers, pickpockets and doping gangs at the cattle markets and raw hide selling center as well as raw hide smugglers.
