Members of armed forces have come forward to ensure security measures at the industries or factories to ensure smooth production, especially at the readymade garments factories amid the ongoing situation.
A team of the army carried out day-long patrolling activities on Friday to ensure the safety of the garment factories in city’s Ashulia area, which is dominated by the garment industry.
Colonel Abu Mohammad Mohiuddin, BGBM (Bar), PBGM led the team of a number of army officers.
The team was accompanied by BGMEA director Asif Ashraf, Shovon Islam and the owners of various garment factories in Ashulia. The patrol program started at 11:00 am in front of Hollywood Garments in Ashulia.
During the patrolling, the army team observed how the factories have taken measures on their own initiative to ensure safety and then they talked to the authorities.
This is to mention that earlier the BGMEA authorities requested the Army to cooperate in ensuring the security of garment factories on the perspective of ongoing circumstances.
