Second edition of ‘PUBG Mobile BD Challenge’ announced

PUBG MOBILE Bangladesh Challenge is back with a bang! After its outstanding run last year, Tencent Games and PUBG Corp. are all set to bring PUBG MOBILE Bangladesh Challenge 2020, the second edition of their biggest, open-to-all flagship tournament back. 

After making its mark as an integral entity within the esports ecosystem ever since launch, PUBG MOBILE continues to push boundaries by giving player’s across Bangladesh exciting opportunities to leverage their skill-base and introduce the second edition of the tournament.

PUBG Mobile Bangladesh Challenge has proven to become the ultimate stepping stone for several professional esports careers in the country. 

The tournament levels the playing field for many aspirational players who look to becoming Bangladesh’s next PUBG MOBILE star. 

Formats and Rounds

Open-for-all, in-game qualifiers will be held to determine the contenders for the Online Qualifiers. Changing the pace this year, every registered squad will be required to play 10 classic mode matches in the span of five days (21st Aug – 25th Aug), out of which, 8 best games will be taken into consideration for qualification to the online play offs. 

The criteria of squads to qualify for in-game qualifiers rests on the placement points and kill points, and in case of overlaps, a combination of Number of Kills, Total Damage and Number of headshots will decide the fate of the teams.

A total of 256 teams will compete in the first round of the online playoffs, of which the top 252 teams are from the in-game qualifiers and the other 4 teams will come in as direct invitees. 

The invited teams will comprise of some of the familiar stars of PUBG Mobile Bangladesh such as Team R2V, Team NRX, Moja Squad and PUBG X.

Divided into 16 groups, these teams will play 2 matches each and will try to dominate the leader board with placement points and kill points. 

The top 3 slots in each group will go to the teams with the highest cumulative points, further to qualifying for the second round of playoffs. The battlefield of this particular round will be Erangel and Sanhok, a classic showdown for all player types. 

The second round of Qualifiers will also have 8 invited teams. These invited teams will comprise some of the top teams from PMCO SA and PMBC 2019. 

The teams will battle it out for a period of 4 days to grab the top 16 slots, who will then advance to the Grand finals scheduled for the 11th and 12th of September 2020.
