After a long wait, the vaccine allotted for the second dose of AstraZeneca has reached Chattogram. 1 lakh 8 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have been received for 1 lakh 5 thousand 425 people waiting for the second dose. The vaccines arrived at the Chittagong District Civil Surgeon's Office on Friday morning.
The Chittagong District Civil Surgeon said that the second dose of vaccination will start next Sunday.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that 1 lakh 8 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine came to the Chittagong office from the EPI and Surveillance of the Health Department on Friday morning. These vaccines are stored in the Central Cold Store of the Civil Surgeon's Office. Hopefully, the second dose of vaccination activities will start from next Sunday. Once the activities start, the vaccines will be delivered from the Central Cold Store in Chittagong to the vaccination center as per the demand.
It may be mentioned that a total of 4 lakh 53 thousand 760 people took the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine in Chittagong at the beginning of the vaccination program. Of these, 1 lakh 5 thousand 425 vaccinators who took the first dose are waiting for their second dose. After taking the first dose, many are already going to get the second dose at the end of 4 months, said the Chittagong District Civil Surgeon.
