The government has been advancing towards fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a long time. According to UNDP the first goals are—to end poverty in all its forms everywhere; to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages; to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. As par this check-list of goals Bangladesh has already managed to partially attain a few of the goals. This year the surplus of food produced in the country is evidence that hunger is slowly going away from the life of people, moreover, newer Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs) is sure to reduce poverty.
On another note, UNESCO officials have praised the advances made by Bangladesh in the healthcare and education sectors. This certifies that the nation has already advanced quite a bit towards fulfilling the some of the goals mentioned in the SDGs. Recent reports published in this daily say that top level government officials are claiming to have progressed with funds from the exchequer.

This is a very laudable plan as Bangladesh and its citizens have managed to achieve a number of the goals given in Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and had performed better than many regional countries. Already the country is working towards fulfilling another SDG goal regarding industry, innovation and infrastructure. Massive infrastructural development is going on across the country in the form of Padma Bridge, Metro Rail and Bullet Train and so on. Meanwhile the government has arranged for Acess to Information (a2i) for innovation and new ideas to be generated by the youth and scholars.
This says that there is definite possibility of achieving the SDGs and that too can be accomplished by the people of the nation working as a whole. This is what the present government is trying to achieve now. Since there is a set to-do list that can be followed Bangladesh is slowly working its way towards achieving the goals given in the SDG.
