The National Science Festival-2024 has been organised for the second time in the university by the initiative of Comilla University Science Club with the participation on Saturday.
About 1500 students of various levels took part there.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. A F M Abdul Moyeen inaugurated this science festival.
Students of various schools, colleges and other institutes including Cumilla University, Noakhali Science and Technology University, CCN Science and Technology University are participating in this year's science festival. About 1700 people have registered in it 76 stalls have been set up to showcase their innovations and models.
Nazmus Saad Abdullah, a student of Cumilla Government College, who is taking part in science festival project, said, 'It feels very good, after a long time, Comilla University has organized such a big science fest. Around 1700 participants participated in it. Such activities on science are very rare in Comilla.
From this students are getting opportunity to implement their knowledge practically. Besides, they get the opportunity to work with many other ideas including robotics.'
Zillur Rahman, the moderator of the university's science club, said, 'CoU Science Club has taken this initiative to spread science as the basis for a smart Bangladesh. There is a festive atmosphere in CoU today around this science fair. The main purpose of this arrangement is to work well with the educational institutions around CoU.'
Prof Dr. A F M Abdul Moyeen said that he has glad to see arrangement. About 1700 students have registered here. Various schools have come from Cumilla and neighboring districts, three universities have come. Olympiad is happening here, science project is happening. Among the few things they do for our university, it is an effort to increase human capacity in science education from the university. Especially for young students of school, college.
He also said, as a result of these arrangements, the communication of external universities, schools and colleges with our university increases. Through this, each other's participatory work will increase. Apart from that, the university has its own identity, it is also a proof that the university is rich in science education. So in these aspects it is a very important event.'
On this day many activities including exhibition, science olympiad, photography contest, science project exhibition, rubik cube show are organized.
