A three-day science fair, 9th science Olympiad, and 9th science quiz competition began in Lakshmipur with the theme of 'Gayan Biggayane Korbo Joy, Shera Hobo Bishwamoy' (We Will Win in Knowledge and Science, We Will Be the Best in the World), marking the National Science and Technology Week.
The inaugural ceremony took place on Monday morning at the Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium, organized by the District Administration.
Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarkar attended the event as the chief guest, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Samrat Khisa. Special guests included Superintendent of Police Md. Akhter Hossain, Principal of Lakshmipur Government Women’s College Professor Khondaker Yusuf Hossain, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jamshed Alam Rana, and District Education Officer Gautam Chandra Mitra, among others.
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the release of balloons. At that time, the guests visited various stalls. Students from different educational institutions across the district showcased their innovative science projects and models at the fair.
Organizers informed that the science fair will run for three days. In addition to the exhibition, various events such as quiz competitions, debate contests, and a science olympiad will be held as part of the National Science and Technology Week celebrations.
