A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Israt Jahan Meem, 16, daughter of Motiur Rahman of Durgapur Village in the upazila. She was the X grader at Durgapur High school. Officer in-Charge (OC) of Birampur Police Station Moniruzzaman said Israt along with her school teacher Mokhlesur Rahman Sabuj was going to Birampur Upazila Parishad to participate a competition riding on a motorcycle.
On the way, a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' hit the motorcycle at Dhanhati Intersection, leaving Israt dead on the spot and Mokhlesur injured.
