Schoolboy killed under rice threshing machine in Jashore

A schoolboy was killed under a locally made rice threshing machine at Jahangirpur village in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore district on Monday. 

The deceased was identified as Abdul Latif, 12, son of Hadiuzzaman of the upazila and a six grader of Muktarpur Amjamatala Secondary School.

Police and local UP member Sawkatul Islam Ripon said the deceased Abdul Latif was studying and working on a rice threshing machine in a village. 

On Monday evening, after finishing the work of threshing paddy in the village field, he was returning home on the Chougachha-Jhikargachha road to Jahangirpur village by pulling the paddy threshing machine with power tiller. 

When he reached near the front of his house, the power tiller went to the side of a motorcycle and the rice threshing machine overturned on the side of the road. Abdul Latif, who was in the driver's seat of the power tiller machine, was crushed to death under the machine.

SI Mosharraf Hossain, in-charge of the Dospakia police camp, confirmed the incident and said, "I am on the spot. There will be filed an unnatural death case in this regard.
