An experimental school milk feeding programme for students of primary schools has begun at Melandhe upazila in Jamalpur under the Livestock and Dairy Development Project amid much enthusiasm.
The experimental school milk feeding program will continue under the Livestock and Dairy Development Project in the district.
The milk feeding programme was inaugurated at a function held on the premises of Amirti Government Primary School on Tuesday.
Melandhe upazila UNO Salim Mia presided over the function while upazila Animal Resources and Veterinary Hospital organise the event.
Engineer Kamruzzaman, Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, spoke there as the chief guest. Animal resource officer Dr. Atiqur Rahman, Education Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan, Ghosherpara UP Chairman Saidur Rahman Leetu, Amirtti Government Primary School President Shahidullah, Principal Mokhlesur Rahman were present at the event among others.
Speakers said, the programme will play a significant role in removing mal-nutritional problem of students increasing attendance of the students in schools. They also thanked the authorities concerned for introducing that programme.
