A school clerk was held allegedly for attempt to rape a fourth-grade student of a kindergarten in Manikganj. On Friday afternoon, he was sent to the court for a five-day remand.
The arrested was identified as Rubel alias Rumel, 30, son of late Tarun Mia of village Bangrai of Betilla union of Sadar upazila. He is an office Clerk com Night guard of 2 No Betilla Government Primary School.
Quoting the FIR, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Rakibuzzaman said the arrested Rumel was employed as the house tutor of the student for the last one year. He had been sexually abused for several days in this scope. On July 6, the tutor tried to rape the student while studying private. In the meantime, the girl ran out of the house. Rubel threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone. On Wednesday (July 10th), the matter comes in the light, when a piece of blood was seen in girl's pant, which examined by her aunty. After interrogation the girl opened the whole incident.
Later, on Thursday night, the victim's father filed a case with the Manikganj Sadar Police Station in this connection. Rubel was arrested from Nalara area of Sadar upazila on Thursday night in connection with the complaint of victim’s father, the OC said.
