Students will be admitted to government and private schools from first to ninth grade through lottery in 2022, as in the current year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the admission committee, chaired by Secretary of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Mahbub Hossain on Wednesday.
According to the meeting sources, it has been decided to select the students for admission from first to ninth grade through lottery to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
DSHE had proposed admission in three ways, including direct admission test, online test and lottery. Among these proposals, the Ministry of Education has chosen the admission through lottery.
Due to the Corona pandemic last year, students from first to ninth grade were admitted through lottery.
Earlier, only the first graders were admitted through lottery. And admission seekers from second to eighth grade had to take part in tests.
Besides, ninth graders were admitted on the basis of the results of JSC and JDC.
