Scholastica student clinches Silver award in Commonwealth Essay Competition

In an outstanding achievement, a student from Scholastic School, Mirpur Branch, has secured a Silver award in the prestigious international essay writing competition hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS). Wasiq Ahnaf Chowdhury, a 15-year-old in class 10 at the school, has been recognized for his exceptional performance in the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023, an event organized by the RCS. His essay, centered on the theme 'Does age matter?' has earned him this esteemed accolade. Remarkably, this marked his inaugural participation in the competition, and he has emerged as a shining star. The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023 asks entrants to explore the power young people hold within the global community and consider how this power can be harnessed to make a meaningful impact in the world.

 The competition witnessed a substantial influx of entries from young individuals spanning the Commonwealth, a testament to its rich history of promoting literacy, self-expression, and creativity, while celebrating the brilliance and ingenuity of the youth.

This illustrious competition, which originated in 1883, holds the distinction of being the world's oldest international writing competition for schools.
