Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday rejected newly floated United Lawyers' Front (ULF), a platform of opposition lawyers.
Terming it as a tactic of pro-BNP, Jamaat lawyers, SCBA secretary Md Abdun Nur Dulal said everyone knows about the background of the leaders of the ULF, adding, almost all of them are from BNP.
"The remaining people are also taking part in creating chaos in the court arena and also across the country along with the BNP for long. This ULF is just another form of pro-BNP, Jamaat and their allied lawyers. It's an evil attempt to create fresh terror," Dulal said while addressing a press briefing at SCBA Auditorium.
While reading out a written statement, the SCBA secretary said United Lawyers' Front are the part of people those don't believe in the spirit of non-communal politics, democracy, those are engaged in the game of vote boycotting for long, plotting against rule of law in the country and creating field for foreign interference in the internal matter of Bangladesh.
SCBA president Advocate Md Momtazuddin Fakir and other members of the executive committee of the association were present at the briefing, among others.
