In the election of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA), Sayedur Rahman, chairman of Imperial Capital, and Md Riyadh Matin, managing director of BMSL Investmentwere re-elected as the president and secretary respectively.
The BMBA president and general secretary were elected unopposed and will be in-charge for 2022-23 tenure, according to a press statement on Saturday. Earlier, they also served as BMBA president and general secretary for the 2020-21 term.
Besides, Asit Kumar Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICB Capital Management, has been elected as the first vice-president. Moreover, Md Moniruzzaman, managing director of IDLC Investment as the vice-president and Abdur Rahim, managing director of Islami Bank Capital Management were elected as the treasurer for the new committee.
The members of the executive committee are: Muhammad Nazrul Islam, MD and CEO of Sandhani Life Finance; Md Obaidur Rahman, MD and CEO of AAA Finance and Investment; AFC Capital’s CEO Mahbub H Mazumder, Southeast Bank Capital Services’ MD Abu Bakar; MD and CEO of Banco Finance and Investment, Hamdul Islam; Nur Ahmed, MD & CEO of Alpha Capital Management and Mir Mahfuzur Rahman, Director of Asia Tigers Capital Finance Investment.
The election schedule was announced with Muhammad A Hafeez as the chairman of the election board in the BMBA election.
