A madrasa boy might have got the worst gift on his birthday as he was brutally beaten by his teacher in Chattogram on Tuesday.
The ill-fated boy is identified as Yasin Farhad, 8, student of a Hafezi Madrasa- Markazul Quran Islamic Academy, in Fatika village of Hathazari municipality in Chittagong.
A video went viral on social media where it was seen that a child was crying to go to his mother’s lap.
Farhad’s mother Parveen Akhter went to his madrasa at 5:00pm to wish him a happy birthday. When his mother left Farhad didn't like her departure.
A child of just 8-year-old could not halt the excitement after seeing his mother and desired to spend his birthday with his family and started weeping.
However, Hafez Md Yahiya, the teacher, could not tolerate that ‘audacity’! He stormed to the place and became furious.
The teacher grabbed the boy and took him to his room. Then the brutality started. It was intolerable to see for the viewers who saw the video. Smack went the whip. The kid was beaten mercilessly by the teacher. Sigh!
However, the netizens expressed their reaction soon after seeing the video. The video of beating the child mercilessly went viral.
The video led to the start of a legal process. The video of the incident was sent to Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ruhul Amin's Facebook Messenger in the afternoon. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer rushed to the spot with a team of Hathazari Police Station.
Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ruhul Amin said, “On information, I and law enforcers rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused teacher. We have also rescued the child from the madrasa.”
Hathazari UNO Ruhul Amin went to see the tortured child with chocolates and toys after learning about his birthday.
“I hope, Farhad will forget the nightmare incident,” he said.
Hathazari Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Shahadat Hossain told media that the teacher had committed a criminal offense by inhumanely beating the child.
The child's father Mohammad Joynal has filed a case with Hathazari Police Station on Wednesday afternoon in this connection.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Harunur Rashid confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.
However, netizens and people from different platforms expressed their hope to see an exemplary punishment of the teacher.
