A fantastic opportunity has come our way thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During a Joint Commission (JC) Saudi Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development Mahir Abdul Rahman Gassim said that KSA is likely to invest $50 billion in different sectors of Bangladesh. This will undoubtedly take the relationship between the two countries to new heights.
The huge investment will help build a bridge with the country, enabling Bangladesh to develop several sectors. The meeting’s agendas included manpower and employment, economic and commercial relationship development, investment and industry, power and energy, religious affairs, tourism information, communication technology, agriculture and fisheries, health services and education and various miscellaneous issues.

As Bangladesh gradually transforms from a lowest income country to a middle income one, foreign investment is one of the key priorities as our economic growth is still on the rise. Moreover, we must shift our industry focus from manufacturing in order to attract invest in diverse sectors.
The friendship between the two countries goes back decades. The investment between Bangladesh and KSA is the continuation of a long history of cooperation and goodwill. Bangladesh government aims to continue the effective partnership towards sustainable development.
The plan of the government to transform the country into an economic hub by utilizing our geographic position will surely go a long way in ensuring the country’s progress and development.
