Ayan Chakraborty is set for his second film after making ‘Shororipu’. Though the film is titled ‘Shororipu 2: Jotugriho’, Ayan insists his second directorial is rather the next installment in the ‘Shororipu’ franchise. The only similarity between the two films is detective Chandrakanta and his investigation. What’s more interesting is that Saswata Chatterjee plays an out and out negative character here and this is something everyone will look forward to.
The detective thriller is a dark revenge drama written by the director himself. The story revolves around a girl named Megha. She was getting ready to marry her boyfriend but in a shocking turn of events Megha has no other choice but to marry her father’s friend Debraj. But Megha’s post-marriage life turns into a nightmare as she goes through oppression for 8 long years. Then one incident changes everything. Debraj is no more! Is it an accident or is Megha responsible for Debraj’s death? Detective Chandrakanta starts his investigation. What happens next forms the crux of the film.
Chiranjit Chakraborty will reprise the role of detective Chandrakanta while Rajesh Sharma essays the role of a DCP. Arunima Ghosh will be seen as Megha and Saswata Chatterjee plays the completely dark character of Debraj. Other cast of the film includes Sourav Chakraborty, Darshana Banik, Debranjan Nag, Biswajit Chakraborty and Poulami Das.
