Shanta Amanah Shariah Fund (SASF) declared cash dividend of 12.0% (Tk 1.2 per unit) for the year ended on 31 December 2020 for its investors. Earnings Per Unit (EPU) of the fund stood at Tk 1.23/Unit, implying that the fund disbursed 97.6% of its earnings to its well-deserved investors.

Shanta Asset Management Limited (SAML) - the sponsor and the asset manager of the fund - informed that shareholders who hold units on 31 December 2020 will be entitled for the declared dividend.  The fund generated 24.6% return for the recently concluded year despite the pandemic driven turbulence in the capital market during the first half of the year. SASF has become one of the top performers among shariah-compliant open-end mutual funds. Since its inception (from February 2019), SASF gained 33.1% while DSES increased only 0.3%.

Mohammad Emran Hasan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SAML, identifies both in-depth research and discipline are the key to the fund’s superior performance.

He also added that SAML is working rigorously in the development of capital market through promoting open-end mutual funds as a suitable investment vehicle to retail investors.
