Santhia Upazila Health and Population Officer Dr Fatema Tuz Jannat said that as soon as the medical team received reports from the health assistants, who are working at the field, the team went to the home of the suspected patients and collected their blood samples. Then they sent those samples to Rajshahi for testing.

Samples have been collected from Dhulauri union, municipality, Karamja union, Dhopadah, Khetupara and Ataikula unions of the upazila.

Suspected patients all came from Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur and Chattogram. A total of 353 people were in home quarantine in the upazila.

Currently there are 72 people in home quarantine. However, arrival of people from other parts of the country still continues. Therefore, the administration, police and health workers are collecting their names. They said the problem was that outsiders wanted to keep their identities and symptoms secret.
