There have been many allegations in the past against Bijay Kumar Debnath, the controversial headmaster of Santhia Government Pilot Model High School in Pabna.

He has been creating one controversy after another since he was appointed as the headmaster in 2015 in an unethical manner.

Once again he has been accused of extorting extra money from students.

It could be known that Bijay Kumar Debnath is charging money from the students of class six in the name of an online application for a stipend from the Prime Minister's poverty fund. The headmaster is collecting Tk 200 from each student through a joint conspiracy with Milon Hossain, the owner of Satata computer.

When Milon Hossain was asked about this, he said, “I have been asked by the headmaster Bijay Kumar Debnath Sir to take Tk 200 from students.” When asked about this, Bijay Kumar Debnath said, “I did not ask any computer shop owner to take money.

I have asked students to fill the stipend form and submit it to the computer shop.”

Bijay Kumar was accused of taking Tk 280 from the students for filling up the stipend form at the end of last year as well.

A few students and a teacher of the school said on condition of anonymity that without any reason, headmaster Bijay Kumar Debnath had collected Tk 50 from every student of class eight last year.

Last year SSC vocational final examination of class nine was scheduled from December 22, 2021 to December 28, 2021. However, Bijay Kumar Debnath, without paying any heed to the rules and regulations, took four signatures in the attendance seat in one day from the teachers and he alone embezzled all the honorarium of the teachers.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abdul Quader said that there is no provision for taking any kind of money for filling up the online stipend form.

“It is against government rules. Online form filling is supposed to be done from the institution,” he said.

School president and Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Jamal Ahmed said action would be taken against him if the allegations are proved.
