Salman Shah is the name of an immortal hero in Dhaka film industry. He started working for the industry in 1993. In just four years of film life, he has acted in 27 commercially successful films.
Shabnur was the heroine of most of Salman's films numbering at 14. The pair acted in a number of superhit films one after the other. A good relationship developed between the two through shooting. There was a lot of discussion about this in the industry.
PBI held a press briefing on Monday afternoon about the death of Salman Shah. At the briefing, the subject of Shabanur again and again was brought up. Citing Salman's wife, Samira, the PBI said that Salman had a close relationship with Shabnur and Salman wanted to marry her.
At the briefing, it was said that Samira had gone to FDC to watch Salman's dubbing before his suicide. She saw Shabanur and Salman in close proximity in the dubbing room. Samira got angry and went out.
At the briefing, it was said that Salman and Badal Khandaker returned home after Samira left there. On several occasions, Shabnur called Salman's home. Salman told Shabnur, “Never call me again.”
Besides, Shabnur often came to Salman's house. Before his suicide, Salman shattered the table fan gifted by Shabnur. The PBI also claimed there was no evidence supporting the allegations that Salman was killed.
On September 6, 1996 Salman Shah was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his residence on New Eskaton Road, Dhaka. Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead. At that time, his father Late Kamruddin Ahmed Chowdhury filed a case of unnatural death.
