Sale of advance train tickets for Eid from June 2

BR to operate 20 special trains

The sale of advance train tickets for Eid holidaymakers will start online from June 2.

The commuters have to purchase their tickets online and though mobile apps, said Director General of Bangladesh Railway Sardar Sahadat Ali while speaking at a press briefing held at the conference room of the Rail Bhaban over railways’ preparation on the occasion of Eid on Tuesday.

The ticket for June 12 will be available on June 2, for June 13 on June 3, June 14 on June 4 and the tickets for June 15 and 16 will be available on June 5 and June 6 respectively.

Those sale of tickets will start at 8 am for western region and at 2 pm for the eastern region of the country, he said.

Railway Minister Zillul Hakim, deputy secretary Toufique Imam and Additional Director General of Bangladesh Railway Md Arifuzzaman were present there.

BR to operate 20 special trains for holidaymakers

Besides, the Bangladesh Railway has decided to operate 20 special trains to facilitate holidaymakers' travel during Eid-ul-Azha. 

Four of these special trains would operate on the Chattogram-Chandpur route from 12 June to seven days after Eid, with a break on Eid day, said Sardar Shahadat Ali, additional general manager of the Railway, in a press briefing at the Railway Bhaban today (28 May).

Bangladesh Railway said in a press release on Tuesday. 

Two will operate on the Dhaka-Dewanganj route, two on the Chattogram-Mymensingh route and another two on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar route. 

Two more special trains would operate on the Joydebpur-Parbotipur route three days before and after Eid, with a break on Eid day. 

Eight Eid special trains will also be operated, four to Kishoreganj's Sholakia and four to Dinajpur's Gor-E-Shahid Eidgah.
