Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye are set to establish a joint political and military mechanism under the newly signed "Mecca Joint Defence Agreement," according to the Turkish Defence Ministry.

The ministry announced during a weekly briefing in Ankara that the tripartite alliance, signed on August 7, will focus on deepening cooperation across their respective defence industries. This new framework will bring together the foreign ministers, defence ministers, and military chiefs of the three nations to coordinate strategic efforts.

In addition to political and military alignment, the pact includes plans for joint military exercises. Potential cooperation is also expected to extend to technology-sharing and joint production within the defence sector, the ministry added, reports UNB.
