Inter-English Mediam School Football Fest concluded here at BAF Shaheen English Mediam School (BAF SEMS) Play Ground on Saturday. A two day tournament experienced its final moment with the Final match of U-19 Girls category where Agakhan School Team became Champion by defeating International Hope School by 2-0 goals.
Earlier, the final matches of U-16 & 19 Boys group were also held in a befitting fashion where the spectators witnessed some thrilling moments, great dribbling & passing skills from the young players. In U-16 boys category, BAF SEMS-A Team became Champion defeating BAF SEMS-B Team by 3-2 goals. In U-19 Boys category, Saint Peterson school became champion defeating International Hope Scool by 2-1 goals.
As the chief guest, Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar, BBP, OSP, ndc, acsc, psc, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations), Bangladesh Air Force was present among the spectators to witness the final matches. In his noteworthy speech, the Chief Guest mentioned that BAF SEMS is a unique school nurturing the juveniles through their academic lessons, moral values as well as sportsmanship spirit that are paring the ways of the students towards greater achievements in life.
He also added, ‘The enthusiasm that fills the heart of the players and audience inspires physical stamina and teach us to take victories and defeats in our stride.’ Later on, the Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar, BBP, OSP, ndc, acsc, psc distributed the prizes among the players and team officials of champion and runner-up teams. There were also individual category awards i.e. Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender and Most Valuable Player from each category.
Mentionable that, the tournament started on 24 January 2020 and 20 renowned English Medium schools participated in the competition.
