Bangladesh pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin is keen to give his best in the upcoming home series against West Indies to make his comeback series after the injury a memorable one, BSS reprots.

Injuries have become a regular feature of the young player since his debut for Bangladesh and the latest setback was a ligament injury from which he recovered to make him available for the national team squad.

The 24-year-old suffered an ankle injury ahead of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup while training, but managed to make a comeback in the middle of the tournament for Minister Group Rajshahi.

“I was worried whether I could recover well before the West Indies series. But now it’s fine,” Saifuddin said.

“Physio Bayezid helped me a lot. There was Shawon, another physio, who also helped me. I had tried my heart and soul as per the directive of them and now overall it’s good.”

Saifuddin said he is extra motivated to do well in the series because it was played at the home den. Bangladesh in fact returned to International cricket with this series in Covid-19 time.

“We had confined ourselves to room at one phase and then came back to the ground to play domestic cricket. Now we are preparing for International cricket. To represent the country is always a matter of pride. Most importantly Shakib Al Hasan is back, so this is a good feeling ahead of the series. Since the series is being played at home, it is an extra motivation for us,” he remarked.

Saifuddin said he is ready to take the challenge as he knew that all of the bowlers have been in good shape following their tremendous performance in the BCB President’s Cup and Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

“We had a high intense practice in batting, bowling and fielding in the last three days. And in the last two tournaments in BCB President’s Cup and in Bangabandhu T20 Cup, the pacers had done well. So I think there will be stiff competition in this place for making a cut in the national team,” the pacer from Feni pointed out.

“Therefore I am trying to give my best. Above all the practice session has been enjoyable. We will get enough practice and there are two warm-up matches also. So I think we will have a good preparation ahead of the series,” he said.
