Actor Sadek Bachchu has been taken to the ICU of Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali for life support after contracting coronavirus.
The matter has been confirmed by actor Zayed Khan, general secretary of Shilpi Samiti.
He said doctors at Universal Medical College Hospital said 80 percent of Sadek Bachchu’s heart was not working. Due to which he had to go on life support. The doctors also said that the condition of the actor was critical.
Citing doctors, he added that Sadek Bachchu had several other ‘critical’ problems besides coronary heart disease. His family is worried about his lung infection.
The actor’s daughter Sadika Fairuz Mehzabin said, “It will take some time for father to recover because the lung infection has spread a little. We urge everyone to pray for father’s recovery.”
It may be mentioned that Sadek Bachchu was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on the night of September 6 with high fever and shortness of breath. There he was tested for coronavirus (Covid-19). Last Friday, the result came positive. He was shifted to Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali on Saturday night as his condition deteriorated.
