Ryan Burl’s fierce strike leads Sylhet to beat Khulna Tigers

Zimbabwean middle order bats Ryan Burl’s rapid 32 off 16 balls steered Sylhet Strikers to taste their third win defeating Khulna Tigers by five wickets in the Bangladesh Premier League cricket on Friday.

Held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, in the day’s first match Khulna Tigers after winning the toss decided to bat first and riding on an unbeaten 67-run from the captained Anamul Haque scored an ordinary total 153 runs for three wickets.

But a combined efforts from the batters, specially, a 61-run knock from 52 deliveries from Harry Tector as a opener and Ryan Burl struck 32 off 16 balls to reach the target scorin 159 runs with five balls remaining. 

Captain Anamul Haque deciding to bat first saw an early blow with losing his opening partner Evin Lewis for 12 runs with 19 runs on the board.

The opener Anamul then accompanied by one down Affi Hossain scored 32 runs from 26 balls but after being trapped Lbw by Howell Afif left the crease with scoring 24 off 16 balls.

Mahmudul Hassan Joy joined the captain when Tigers were just struggling with scoring 51 runs from 7.2 overs for one but could not lift up the team’s run rate when he backed to the pavilion after scoring just one run.

Anamul who was just watching that none of his partners could stay for a long had a good company of Habibur Rahman Sohan when they remained unbeaten after playing a 99 runs innings from 67 deliveries and accumulates a respectable total of 153 runs. 

But chasing to an ordinary target, opener Harry Tector scored 61 off 52 balls with knocking six fours and three sixes. Mohammed Mithun at the middle scored 24 off 19 balls to make it easy for the Sylhet strikers when Ryan Burl finished it in style with playing an unbeaten 32 off 16 balls with plundering three huge sixes and a four.
