Rupganj Correspondent: A monthly law and order meeting was held in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj to decide to create a new security zone with zero tolerance to curb theft and drugs. The meeting was held at the upazila auditorium on Wednesday (October 29) afternoon.
The meeting was attended by local administration, police, public representatives and journalists. The local law and order situation was discussed in the meeting. The main topics of discussion in the meeting were theft, robbery, drugs, women and child abuse, etc.
The meeting discussed various problems related to public safety, especially emphasizing on strengthening security in markets, educational institutions and congested areas. It was decided to conduct anti-drug campaigns and take strict action against drug dealers, as well as awareness activities. Instructions were given for traffic management and maintaining discipline on the roads, so that accidents can be prevented.
The meeting was presided over by Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Saiful Islam Joy, Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tariqul Islam, Rupganj Army Camp Ops Officer Captain Nafiz, Purbachal Camp In-Charge Captain Tanjil, Bhulta Highway OC Jasim Uddin, officials of various upazila departments and union chairmen and acting chairmen were present.
Held once a month in the Upazila Parishad meeting room, this meeting promises a comprehensive plan to prevent crime. This meeting will be conducted with the aim of establishing direct communication between the administration and the people and maintaining stability by resolving problems quickly.
