The three-storied building at Chattogram’s Enayetbazar area has become covered with moss and numerous parasitic plants have also engulfed it too. Moreover, the lack of renovation and painting has made its look quite terrible. From here nearly two kilometers away is Firingibazar’s Hazi Nuruzzaman Residential area where ‘Hazi Building’ and ‘Sokhina Mansion’ are situated. These houses have deep ties with the childhood of Ayub Bachchu. On the road to Enayetbazar there is an alley way and on the left side of this alley, after a short distance, is the three storied red house where the childhood and teenage of the legendary guitarist had passed. He used to live on the second floor of that house and at night he used to practice his guitar on the rooftop. Then slowly his music spread across the subcontinent. He is in eternal rest at Choitanyagoli cemetery beside his mother’s grave. The sculpture of a silver guitar has been established in memory of this legendary singer Ayub Bachchu which is situated at the Probortok Mor of Chattogram.
