Runa Laila is a legendary singer of the subcontinent. The singer once acted in a film called ‘Shilpi’. Since then she has not appeared in any more films.
Runa Laila has acted again after a long time but not for a film this time. She will give a guest appearance as herself in a long-running drama serial airing on Kolkata’s Star Jalsa channel. The name of the series is ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’. But she doesn’t want to call this an acting role.
Runa Laila’s birthday is on 17th November. The special episode of the series was produced for this occasion.
The main character of the series Joba played by Pallabi Sharma is a huge fan of Runa Laila and considers her an idol. An episode will portray Runa Laila herself and she will even perform a song. The shooting of the episode took place in a studio in Kolkata’s Taliganj on Thursday.
In a phone call from Kolkata Runa Laila said, ‘I welcome this special arrangement by Star Jalsha to celebrate my birthday. I am very pleased to give a cameo appearance in such a popular drama series on the occasion of my birthday. I am happy to be able to inspire Pallabi Sharma who plays Joba in the show, as well as the rest of the team. I took part in the episode as I felt it was my responsibility as an artist.’
Runa Laila said that the special episode will be aired on her birthday on the 17th of November. She said that she will be returning to Dhaka today after the shoot.
