Her last film was Raja Chanda’s ‘Kidnap’, a commercial pot boiler opposite dev. This time around Rukmini Maitra is back in a more serious content-driven film. The pretty actor has high hope for the thriller ‘Password’ directed by Kamaleswar Mukherjee which is touted to be Bengali cinema’s first tryst with cybercrime.

In this multi starrer action thriller Rukmini will be seen as a deep web analyst and she super excited to be a part of the film.

“We are extremely happy as a team because of all the appreciations we are getting from the audience, friends and close ones. The biggest compliment is many have said ‘Password’ looks like a Hollywood film. We all have been trying our best to achieve that look, vibe and feel. Everything we see now is digital. We are living at a time when nothing is constant, things are going through changes all the time. Even cinema as a medium is going through a transformation. World cinema is only a click away now. We have to make something for which they will buy a ticket to watch it at a theatre. That’s what ‘Password’ looks to achieve,” said Rukmini Maitra.

“Our team is getting very appreciation from everyone. Audiences are complimenting the trailer”, she added.

The trailer opens with a woman being blackmailed and being watched everywhere. She is not even safe in her home. Then the scene straight goes to government offices where they are tensed because someone is hacking the information and misusing it. There is an organization of hackers who deals with the dark web, have become a threat to the nation’s security. Parambrata Chatterjee and Paoli Dam are playing the head of this organization. A senior officer DCDD Rohit Dasgupta, played by Dev, has been assigned to catch the criminal minds behind cybercrime activities. Rukmini Maitra and Adrit Roy are also playing dark web experts but which side they are that has not been clearly shown.

‘Password’ also stars Dev, Parambrata Chatterjee, Paoli dam and Adrit Roy in the lead. The film will release on October 2.
