Rajshahi University (RU) students on Sunday formed a human chain and placed 3-point demand including reopening of residential halls of the university by September 30.

The students formed the human chain in front of the central library of the university. Five of the students met the Vice Chancellor.

Their 3 points are: Reopen the residential halls within this month, make sure that the rented hostel owners can’t take any money from the admission candidates and make help desk for helping the admission seekers.

Islamic Studies department’s student Mohabbat Hossain Milon said, “Many of us are now staying in Rajshahi. Our university life is not going smoothly for a long time. The university admission test is going to be started from the first week of the next month. If the residential halls would not reopen, the admission seekers will face a lot of problems. So, we want the halls to be reopened within September 30.

RU Vice Chancellor professor Golam Sabbir Sattar said, “An academic council meeting will be held on September 30. We will take a decision about the reopening of residential halls and the campus at that meeting.
