Rajshahi University Marketing Alumni Association (RUMAA) has taken an initiative to provide scholarship facilities among the poor and meritorious students of the department.
Mohammod Abdul Alim, an assistant professor of RU Marketing department and the RUMAA publicity affairs secretary, revealed the matter on Sunday at a press conference at the Rabindra Bhaban teachers’ lounge of the university on Sunday.
He said that the first reunion of RUMAA was held at RU on last 13 February where Jagannath University Marketing department chairman professor M Humayun Kabir Chowdhury and RU Marketing department chairman Golam Rabbani Mondal were made president and general secretary respectively. JnU vice chancellor professor Mohammod Mizanur Rahman was also made the chief adviser of the association.
At the press conference, he also said that a 71-members full-fledged committee of the association was formed on last Pahela Baishakh where Mohammod Mabubul Alam, a former student of RU Marketing department and also a managing director of A&A Trousers Ltd. have donated Tk 50 lakh to the association in order to give scholarship facilities only for the poor and meritorious students of the department. Among others, SM Kabir, Faridul Islam, Suvra Rani Chanda, Borak Ali and Shah Azam, professors of the department, were also present at the press conference.
