Even after more than six months of the examination, the Masters Batch students of Fine Arts Department of 2015-16 session of Rajshahi University are still awaiting for the results.

Students of the batch, mentionable, started their classes in 2018, due to acute sessions-jam for about three years. Prior to that they spent six years to complete their four-year Honours course.

Their final examinations were also finished at the end of the same year. Since then, six months had been elapsed but their results are not published yet.

The students said they had completed their four years’ honors course spending six years while one year masters course in 3 years. But they have not got their examination’s results till now.

For not getting results, they are expressing dissatisfaction as they can not apply for existing good jobs. The students, however, blamed the teachers’ negligence of the department.

According to the Fine Arts faculty sources, it was known that the three departments- Painting, Oriental Art and Printmaking, Ceramics and Sculpture, and Graphic Design, Crafts and History of Art were launched in the 2015-2016 academic years breaking the Fine Arts department.

However, master’s students of 2010-11 academic session of the department did not get their results till now although according to the university ordinance, all of departments are liable to publish the all of examinations’ results within 90 days.

More of the victims alleged that they notified the department’s teachers in several time to publish their results as soon as possible but did not pay any heed in this regard.

A recent job circular is published which application deadline is May 20. If the results were published on time, they would get the opportunity to apply for that circular, said some distressed students of those department.

In reply to a query, Mostafa Sharif Anowar, Chairman of the Ceramics and Sculpture department and also the chairman of the examinations committee of that year, said to Bangladesh Post that ‘We have already made a tabulation committee but a course teacher has not submitted course number yet so that the results publishing process is being delayed’.

Professor Siddhartha Shankar Talukder, Dean of the Fine Arts faculty, said that the results publishing process is going on. As soon as possible it will be published.
